Lakeway Mayor asked to resign
|
Long serving Lakeway Mayor Joe Bain has publicly admitted he used a fake NextDoor online ID to post comments and give voting advice about the candidates in the current City Council election. Calls are coming from many people including the affected "change" candidate Tiffany McMillan for his immediate resignation. City Manager Steve Jones has so far not replied to our e-mail questions about the situation.
LTYA and Bee Cave elections

The publication of a story on the Bee last week (in which the LTYA answering a series of questions about their future funding plans and the effect of withdrawing the Field of Dreams from sale in Bee Cave) is causing an online uproar on our group on FaceBook.
On this post HERE, almost 50 comments have been posted from LTYA spokepeople, Council candidates and others. The level of contention is high and recent robocall campaigns seem to fanning the flames of this issue.

Robocalls from LTYA candidates?

A new uproar about the connection between LTYA and the Bee Cave City Council election erupted this week. The issue is about funding for the new sports complex planned for out on 71 in Lakeway.
Robocalls appear to be reaching voters asking them about their voting plans and if they indicate they are planning to vote for the three incumbents (King, Lowman and Parker) the robocaller is claimed to state that the incumbents had rejected a proposal from Travis County Commissioner Gerald Daugherty to support LTYA.
The incumbents have all pointed out on a heavily commented post on our FaceBook page that no such request has been received by Council.
