Carlos and Charlies will close the doors after 18 years immediatley after the Labor Day weekend - citing lower Lake levels. There are plans for entertainment and a memorabilia auction planned for Labor Day.
Covert fails at P&Z - updated

At the August 20th Bee Cave Planning & Zoning Commission meeting, the controversial application to build the Covert dealership on Highway 71 was postponed - not denied. Based on their failure to include the new Middle School in their traffic impact analysis their application was sent back for more work and will not come before next week's City Council meeting. Denial would have led to Council considering the application - P&Z is merely a "recommending" body. The result was welcomed by a large crowd of anti Covert local residents. No members of the Covert family were present - only their lawyer and designated experts answered questions. It also became clear the parking garage will have four stories, not three as most people expected.

Spicewood gets new ACE Hardware

The former Ilsa's Restauarnt in Spicewood has been sold and is going to be converted into a new ACE Hardware store, according to the Spicewood Facebook group.

As work progresses on the new Schmidt's BBQ by McDonalds at the Hill Country Galleria, a huge 3.5 ton wood burning fire pit was installed this week.
