This is the Bee Cave PD's description of the events on Monday (May 1st) when a car and phone were stolen in a HCG Parking garage at gunpoint by three 16 years olds from San Antonio.

 

"This morning, at approximately 1028 hrs, the Bee Cave Police Department was dispatched to the Hill Country Galleria, Garage C, for a report of a carjacking at gunpoint. The suspects were reported by the victim as three black males, one with a large caliber weapon. Bee Cave and Lakeway Police

 

Officers responded immediately. Within a minute of the call, Bee Cave Police Officers located the three individuals in the Shops at the Galleria, Best Buy/Old Navy, parking area driving t...he victim's vehicle. Upon attempting to conduct a vehicle stop on the stolen vehicle, the driver of the vehicle attempted to evade with Bee Cave Police Officers pursuing on Highway 71 towards Oak Hill.

 

The suspects lead pursuing Officers down Old Bee Cave Road, aggressively running other drivers off the roadways and being involved in and causing a collision at the intersection of William Cannon and HWY 290/71. The suspects continued south on William Cannon and were involved in and caused a second collision just past the intersection of William Cannon and Escarpment.

 

Two suspects, one armed, ran north from the vehicle and jumped over a fence into a daycare playground where children were present playing outside. The third suspect was reported to run south. Two Bee Cave Police Officers, located both suspects in a wooded area at the southwest corner of a property located at McCarty Lane and Ridge Oak Road.

 

Both suspects were taken into custody, one of which was laying on a pistol. Neither suspect nor Officers involved were injured in this incident. The third suspect is still at large. Both suspects will be charged with Aggravated Robbery, Evading Arrest and Detention (Vehicle), Possession of Stolen Property, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (Gun Free Zone).

 

The Bee Cave Police Department would like to thank the Lakeway Police Department, Austin Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, but most of all the citizens who were collaterally involved and assisted the Bee Cave Police Department with this arrest."
