City preps 2017-8 Budget
Bee Cave City Council started its discussions of the 2017-8 budget which starts in October at this week's meeting - the final vote is later in September.
The overall budget this year looks to be slightly over the expected cost figure and almost 2/3 of the income still comes from Sales Tax and other income streams - with a very low Property Tax rate.
The five year trends show the Police Department remains the largest cost and continues to grow. City Manager Travis Askey pointed out that it is not headcount driving this increase but equipment and other costs.
