Austin median house price tops $300K

The median price for single-family homes continued to rise at a steady pace in August 2017, increasing 2.7 percent year-over-year in Austin to $361,000 and increasing 4.0 percent year-over-year to $300,000 across the five-county MSA.
At a county level, median sales price increased 4.4 percent to $262,990 in Hays County, 2.7 percent to $350,000 in Travis County and 6.4 percent to $276,500 in Williamson County.
Strong gains in listings activity as well as pending sales activity across the region continued in August 2017. In the Austin-Round Rock MSA, active listings jumped 16.1 percent year-over-year to 7,781 listings; new listings grew 8.2 percent year-over-year to 3,316 listings; and pending sales rose 8.1 percent year-over-year to 2,710 pending sales.
