Homestead may turn down $4MM bridge - UPDATED
The current Travis County Bonds, if passed, contains $4MM to fix the flood troubled bridge at the entrance to the Homestead off 71 in Bee Cave.
Residents are rumored in local social media to be against the building of a new bridge to keep the road open during heavy rains - reportedly to maintain their privacy and prevent further development. It has been quoted elsewhere that more than 75% of neighbors must refuse the upgrade to stop the project - and that then the money may be shifted to other County projects.
We have been contacted by at least one Homestead resident who points out there is no HOA or POA in the Homestead and that it is not clear who would conduct such a survey or who decided on the 75% number. They also tell me feelings are at the 50:50 level with regard to accepting a bridge upgrade.
