Green Santa Rides Again 2017!
LTlov is getting ready to jingle all the way into another awesome holiday season serving our neighbors in need through the Green Santa program.
Collection boxes are on hand at LTISD campuses and at local businesses throughout the community, including Body Balance Physical Therapy, the Lake Travis Community Library, Strandz Salon, Point of Origin, Chick-fil-A, Kuper Sotheby’s, the Lakeway Activity Center and the Lakeway Police Officer’s Association, World of Tennis and WOT Pilates, Luxe Salon, Coldwell Banker United Realtors, Prosperity Bank, Terrell Veterinary Clinic and Moreland Properties.
The deadline to make a donation to help low income Lake Travis children and their families is Thursday, December 7th. Suggested gifts for children aged infant to 17 include dolls, cars and trucks, sports equipment, games, blocks and building kits, art supplies and gift cards to local retailers. Cash donations and $10 H-E-B gift cards will stretch food budgets and help families enjoy a special holiday meal.
Last year, LTlov’s Green Santa program served 681 children from 224 families. Green Santa’s success depends on the support of the entire Lake Travis community. Opportunities are available to volunteer for Green Santa at the LTISD Educational Development Center to sort donations, pack family gift boxes and to help on distribution days.
Volunteers are needed December 4th through December 11th. Individuals, groups, clubs and organizations are welcome. Day, evening and after-school times are open to adults, high school students and middle school students and can be reserved.
