Bee Cave City Council to oppose Masonwood
The November 12th Bee Cave City Council passed a unanimmous motion to have their staff prepare a "strongly worded communication to the controlling bodies expressing their deep concerns about this development".
After multiple comments by Bee Cave residents and citizens of adjacent areas, and repeated reminders from the dais that Bee Cave has no actual control over the planned 1,600 home development off Hamilton Pool Road, the City Council had little option, but to make their position known to the County, the TCEQ and the PUA.
The fact that the City has two board representatives on the WTCPUA was also stressed but the City did not publicly resolve to instruct them specifically on how to reply to the application for water - a factor that could prevent the development from even coming before Travis County.
At issue remained the enforceability of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that governed the development density and drainage of Rocky Creek, Belvedere and other developments on the 290 and HPR water system. The PUA head and the Board Member on Council debated the MOU and then it became apparent that the PUA had voted that procedure down within the last few months.
