"West Travis County Public Utility Agency Lifts Stage 4 restrictions
October 14, 2015— The West Travis County Public Utility Agency (PUA) completed the final phase of repairs for the raw water line that delivers water to the PUA water treatment facility. The PUA ended emergency Stage 4 Water Restrictions in its service territory this morning—Wednesday, October 14, 2015.
“It took the effort of tens of thousands of people to ensure the service territory did not experience drinking water shortages. We appreciate the help of all our retail customers, wholesale customers and local communities in this critical emergency,” says Don Rauschuber, General Manager of the PUA, “We are also thankful to our neighboring utilities for their assistance. It was vital.”
Per its Drought Contingency Plan, the PUA has reinstated Stage 2 watering which allows for twice a week outdoor watering on designated days and times. Due to increased demand following the repairs, customers could experience low water pressure in higher elevations if people do not adhere to watering designated days and times.
The days are:
Odd Numbered Addresses: Wednesdays & Saturdays
Even Numbered Addresses: Thursdays & Sundays
Commercial: Mondays & Fridays
4:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.
“We are out of the critical emergency and non-essential outdoor water use is allowed,” says Don Rauschuber. “However, customers must strictly adhere to twice a week watering on their designated days and times to ensure that water demand does not negatively impact the water system.”
