Voice contestant performing at Spicewood Vineyards
Spicewood Arts Society (SAS) in its continuing effort to bring the arts to the Hill Country kicks off the second half of the anticipated concert season by presenting the world class blues/soul singer, Malford Milligan, on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Spicewood Vineyards Event Center, 1419 CR 409 in Spicewood, Texas 78669.
Malford, a seasoned entertainer, has performed at Austin City Limits, appeared on the Conan O’Brien Show and been a contestant in 2009 on NBC’s The Voice. In addition, he has recorded on more than 30 albums with acclaimed artists Marcia Ball, Hal Ketchum, and Toni Price among others. The Austin Chronicle named him “Best Male Vocalist of the Decade” in 2000 and he also received “Best Male Vocalist” by the Austin Music Awards.
Texas Monthly Magazine says of Malford “(He) may be the next great soul singer…his tenor resonance and barking delivery invite comparisons with Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, and when he’s onstage you can’t take your eyes off him!”
Tickets for this performance as well as the remaining scheduled concerts, Artisan String Quartet and the Motheral Family Tribute to Tony Campise are available for $50 each. All of these performances will be held at the serene country setting of the Spicewood Vineyards.
Showtime is 7PM with the doors opening at 6PM allowing patrons an opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine available for purchase from the vineyard. For tickets or information on other events go online to www.spicewoodarts.orgor call 512-264-2820.
