Pedernales drops electricity rates
For those area residents supplied by Pedernales Electric Cooperative, as opposed to Austin Energy, there was a price reduction in the last few weeks (effective April 1st.
From their site: "Pedernales Electric Cooperative members in most rate classes will see another power cost adjustment (PCA) reduction, effective with bills rendered on or after April 1. The decrease to the PCA is a pass through of savings associated with the delivery of power.
“Today’s rates put the Co-op’s members in a good position,” PEC CEO John Hewa said. “This reduction combined with prior actions will save residential members with typical kilowatt-hour use more than $11 in total compared to rates from April 2015.”
Members also can look forward to new rates options that will be available June 1 as a result of the Co-op’s recently completed cost-of-service and rates study. More information will be sent to members in April."
