Field of Dreams uncertainty continues

According to Lakeway Mayor Joe Bain's blog Travis County continues to deny funding for the "new" LTYA facility out on 71.
The County has said that the LTYA facility is a top priority in their parks plan but - according to Bain - "They have so far denied funding stating that we are a wealthy area and should pay our way. the last time I looked, our tax rate is the same as the rest of the County and my guess is taxes on our properties pays a significant portion of the County's bills. They need to find the money from the bond in 2001 and put it to work for our kids!"
Since the Overstreet development group agreed to buy and dead over the "old" Field of Dreams to the City of Bee Cave, the future of the second newer field has been in question.
