In this beautifully haunting play based on the touching poems by Lee Edgar Masters, the former residents of Spoon River examine life and the longing for what might have been. As the citizens reflect on the dreams, secrets, and regrets of their lives, they paint a gritty and honest portrait of the town as all of their pasts are illuminated.
There are over 40 characterizations and vignettes which allow for all actors to perform at least one monologue...giving the audience a unique opportunity to see each actor perform so lo. Stories of past experiences and relationships are told via an amazingly varied array of roles from young lovers, preachers and teachers...including humorous accounts of past experiences and relationships.
This production of The Spoon River Project is directed by Tammy Carville, Technical Director, Aaron Stahlecker and K.J. Bartosh, Performing Arts Center Director. Lighting and stage tech support is run entirely by the LT Tech Theatre classes.
