DPS to patrol schools
Governor Greg Abbott appears to have ordered TX State DPS Troopers to begin patroling local schools - including those in LTISD. The District appears to have entered into a new partnership to enable this.
LTISD spokesman Marco Alverado stated "They're not here to take over our schools, they're here to enhance our security and safety to supplement what we do already."
Reaction from local parents is mixed.
