July 30th saw a very mixed reaction at the first Lexus of Lakeway public meeting held at Lakeway Activity Center at which Lexus’ lawyer, Terry Bray, gave a presentation to about 200 local residents.

The 20 acre lot on 620 at Clara Van is still under permit negotiation with the City of Lakeway for the luxury car dealership and is seeing mixed reactions from residents of neighboring developments.

Although the discussion process is taking a very different path from the Covert dealership proposed for Highway 71 near Falconhead West, the same issues of noise, light pollution and buildinings impinging on views and lowering property values remain.

The residents in the audience were divided in opinion on the dealership. After watching a virtual tour of the facility and the forum was opened for questions, occasionally the audience would break into chatter, arguing for or against Lexus of Lakeway.

Also present were Lakeway Mayor David Deome and property owner Larry Niemann.
