The Bee Cave Bee

Schmidt Family Barbecue owners, Susie and Chad Franks, have announced plans to shutter their second location in Lakeway. The lease runs out in July but they are staying through September to give the landlord more time to find new tenants.

Their announcment goes on to discuss the reasons behind the news:

"With all the positive things that come with the Lakeway location, there are some tremendous challenges that went into our decision. The main one being underestimating the logistics of traveling back and forth, managing both locations and the fact that our main brisket pits are located in Bee Cave. As Chad traveled to both locations numerous times a day, along with several of our employees, we realized it became too much to balance and made sense for our family to go back to running one location. We take great pride in being hands-on owners and look forward to putting all of our focus in to Bee Cave again.  With catering, festivals and the overall business at our Bee Cave location going very strong, this consolidation back to one location will allow us to do more where we’ve had to turn some events down in the past.  

We sincerely appreciate the support that our Lake Travis customers have shown and we hope to see them soon at the Bee Cave location."
