Fore closes
Lakeway Restaurant and Bar "Fore" has joined a growing list of local businesses closing down this month. This time the owners cite competition not staffing issues or rent rises. Fore had been open for five years.
On their Facebook page the owners (James Dinwoodie and Ose Edebor) had this to say:
"It’s with a heavy heart that we must announce that we have had to make the very difficult decision of permanently closing Fore. We would like to apologize for taking as long as we did to officially make this announcement, but with an event of this magnitude, we needed a few days to process what has happened. In that time there has been understandably much speculation and rumor about our status and why thing s have occurred. So we would like to set the record straight that sadly, we have permanently closed. Unfortunately due to a significant decrease in business, largely due to the recent saturation of business in the area, we no longer have the capital required to effectively operate. In short, business has slowed too much to continue to stay open. We have been serving the Lake Travis Area for 5 years now, and this was a very difficult decision to have to make. After that much time and effort put into serving this great community, this is not the way we wanted it to end."
