Travis County adds officer to middle schools
Travis County commissioners have approved the deployment of an additional School Resource Officer for LTISD Middle schools.
LTMS Principal leaves suddenly
The Principal at LTMS is leaving mid term after suddenly resigning..
Superintendent Lancaster put out the following announcement today: "The purpose of this email is to let you know that Ms. Sherry Baker has resigned as principal and will not complete the school year at Lake Travis Middle School. I have asked Mr. Lester Wolff to serve as interim principal for the duration of the year. He will begin that role on Wednesday, February 20.
LTISD Approves $30MM for Elementary #7
At its December 19th meeting LTISD Board approved a maximum budget of just under $30MM for the building of the District's 7th Elementary School in Rough Hollow.
The new School budget has been raised by about $1.5MM and the School is expected to open for the 20-21 School year.

DPS to patrol schools
Governor Greg Abbott appears to have ordered TX State DPS Troopers to begin patroling local schools - including those in LTISD. The District appears to have entered into a new partnership to enable this.
LTISD spokesman Marco Alverado stated "They're not here to take over our schools, they're here to enhance our security and safety to supplement what we do already."
Reaction from local parents is mixed.

Clear bag policy coming to all LTISD events
This announcemnt came from the School District this week: "Starting August 15, the LTISD Athletics Department will implement a clear bag requirement to enhance security at all District-sponsored athletic events held on the Lake Travis High School campus. More info. coming soon!"
