County dispute over 71/HPR connection

This week's Travis County Commissioner's Court was deluged with objections to a road Connecting 71 and Hamilton Pool Road.
The so called "Reimer's/Peacock Road" is being heavily pushed by Gerald Daugherty and is causing huge concern because of its potential to add more traffic to the already stretched Hamilton Pool Road.
Other alternatives have been talked about but many local citizens went to the Court to express their concerns about this proposal - which is seen to lead to a huge new development area and massive amounts of money to just a few local landowners.
The current prognosis is that the $144 bond package to be approved soon will not include the proposed road.
