Spicewood Library to Host Local Author
Spicewood Community Library Book Club will be hosting a meet-up and book signing with local author Cinda Adams Brooks at the Spicewood Community Library on Febraury 10 at 9:30 am.
In her newly released book, Heartprints of Africa: A Family’s Story of Faith, Love, Adventure, and Turmoil, Brooks recounts her visit with identical twin, Linda, in Northern Uganda, which quickly turns from a relaxing vacation to a terrifying escape from artillery and automatic gunfire. Growing up in East Africa with a medical missionary family, the lessons learned serve her as she and her family fight for survival.
Cinda, currently a resident of Spicewood, is retired from a career as a nurse and Lieutenant Game Warden and now enjoys travel with her husband and Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, writing, competition in the World Police and Fire Games, and volunteer work.
