Bee Creek church starts on new gym
Bee Creek United Methodist Church announced it will break ground for construction of its new gymnasium building on Feb 28th at 12:30 p.m. at 3000 Bee Creek Road in Spicewood, Texas.
“We believe that our youth are among the most effective leaders in our church,” said BCUMC Senior Pastor Laura Heikes. “We’re very excited about building a new facility that will provide a place for them, as well as the community, to have fun and worship.”
Members of the church’s youth membership will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony, which will follow the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Families from the church and the surrounding community are invited to join the celebration.
“We are so pleased to be in a position to provide this facility for the church and our Spicewood neighbors,” said Pastor Laura. “Because we are blessed with such generous donors, we will not have to borrow money, but will be able to build this facility debt-free.”
The new gymnasium will include a regulation-size basketball court and two crosscourt volleyball courts with viewing areas, gathering places, and a large classroom where youth can study, play and deepen their faith. Bee Creek UMC will share the space with community youth sports leagues for practices and tournaments.

About Bee Creek United Methodist Church
Bee Creek UMC is a church community where imperfect people experience the perfect love of God, are transformed, and change the world together. Established in June 2002, it has grown from a small mobile church with 30 founding members to a community hub with a membership of 520. The church has one overriding goal – to open the door for people to experience the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. The church especially seeks to minister to those who have been hurt or disillusioned by the church, or who are just not interested in religious organizations. Bee Creek UMC is located at 3000 Bee Creek Road in Spicewood, just off Highway 71 West, about 15 minutes from Lakeway and 30 minutes from Oak Hill.
