City Council race over as Matzen withdraws
Incumbent City Council member Tom Matzen withdrew for this May's election at this week's candidate Forum.
Hill Country Indoor investor Jeff Kent pulled out of the election last month and now remaining candidates - incumbent Bill Goodwin and new candidate Jon Cobb will certainly fill the two vacant seats.
Matzen cited the split in the Council and the burdomsome nature of the position as the reasons behind his withdrawal. The lateness of his decision will leave his name on the ballot but he endorsed the other two candidates anyway.
