LTISD buses damaged by storm
Due to last night's storm, a significant portion of our bus fleet located at the LTISD Transportation Center at Hwy. 71 and Vail Divide sustained significant hail damage. A number of our buses are out of service.
As a result, LTISD officials have secured a number of buses from neighboring schools districts that will help us provide regular bus service for our students. All buses will run at their regular times. Please be advised, because we are borrowing buses from neighboring districts, your child's route will be serviced by a bus from the Austin, Dripping Springs, Eanes, Hays, Leander, Pflugerville and Round Rock school districts. The buses will likely not resemble your child's regular bus and will be identified by another number and school district name. However, you should expect your regular driver to operate the borrowed bus.
It is possible that we may need to deploy the same arrangement for borrowed buses for Tuesday, April 21. You will be notified accordingly in the same manner.
Please note, we are doing everything possible to minimize the impact to our students while providing alternate transportation services in a safe and efficient manner. We thank you for your patience and understanding of this unforeseen circumstance. I am extremely grateful to our neighboring school districts for their quick response to our calls for assistance! Thank you also to our Transportation Department staff for an exemplary and speedy response on a Sunday.
