School District Elections
The LTISD Board elections are imminent and all the candidates are now known. LTISD school board members are elected by the registered voters within the school district boundaries.
The Lake Travis Independent School District is one of approximately 1,040 public school systems in Texas and its board members are elected at-large. This means each board member, or trustee, represents the entire school district rather than single-member positions that represent a sub-portion of the district. Each trustee is elected to serve without compensation for overlapping terms of three years each.
Early voting in the LTISD school board election will occur Monday, April 25 through Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Election Day voting will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7.
The following individuals have successfully filed an application for a place on the general election ballot:
Trustee District 3: Alex Alexander (incumbent, unopposed)
Trustee District 4: John Aoueillé, Ariel E. Axelrod (incumbent Jason Buddin did not file for re-election)
Trustee District 5: Kim Flasch (incumbent, unopposed)
Trustee District 7: Juan R. Gutierrez, Bob Dorsett, Jr. (one-year term)
