One person was charged with two counts of Robbery after Bee Cave Police linked suspects from multiple stolen vehicles to the March 15th and June 27th hold up’s at the BBVA Compass Bank, 12524 Bee Caves Road.

A few minutes after the June 27th robbery was reported, Bee Cave Police located the getaway car abandoned in the Hill Country Galleria parking garage.  The vehicle, a black Honda Odyssey van was reported stolen from Buda.  Inside the vehicle police recovered clothing fitting the description provided by the bank employees, and a handgun.  The handgun was reported stolen from Austin.

The video footage of the suspect from the second robbery closely resembled the suspect from the March 15th robbery and bank employees advised police the suspect was the same individual.

On July 3rd, an alert Bee Cave Officer observed a vehicle parked in Dick’s Sporting Goods parking lot in the Hill Country Galleria with a male subject standing outside the vehicle.  The subject matched the description of the bank robbery suspect.  When the subject noticed the officer he quickly entered the vehicle and attempted to drive away.  A license plate check revealed the vehicle was stolen from Austin and after the officer attempted to make a stop a short pursuit ensued.   The vehicle was cornered and three subjects were detained, two males and one female.

Based on forensic evidence and photo lineups conducted by detectives with the Bee Cave Police Department, Bee Cave Police have charged Daniel Richard Dale, 40 years old, with two counts of Robbery, and he remains in Travis County Jail.

James Edward Jones, age 52, and September Skye Czhakowski age 22, were also charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Bee Cave Police were assisted in the investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and have provided information to Buda and Austin Police Departments in reference to the vehicles stolen from their jurisdictions.  Both stolen vehicles have been returned to their owner and a third stolen vehicle was also recovered by Buda Police.

“A calm and quick call by the bank employees and great work by Bee Cave Police Officers in locating the stolen get-away vehicle, then heads up work by a vigilant Bee Cave Police Officer on July 3rd helped the Bee Cave Police Criminal Investigations Division (CID) gather the evidence to clear these crimes,” said Bee Cave Police Chief Gary Miller.
