Election approved

 

 

City Council gave the OK for a May 2nd election at their Jan 14 meeting.  Kara King has already announced she is standing for Mayor to replace outgoing Monty Parker. Parker has endorsed King.

 

Also up for grabs are Mayor Pro Tem Bill Goodwin's seat and that of John Cobb but only Goodwin has confirmed he is standing as of today.

 

If King is elected Mayor, she will vacate her council seat. Her replacement will be selected by the Council until the next election in either November or May 2021.

BCPD $9MM facility proceeds to design phase

 

 

Bee Cave City Council have approved an RFP for design work for the proposed new 17.6K sq ft, $9MM BCPD facility.

 

The next stage is the appointment of a design firm - candidates will submit proposals for the facility design by Feb 27th

Mayor change certain in May

With the shock announcement of his resignation with immediate effect pre Christmas, Bee Cave Mayor Monty Parker left the office a full six months before expected. In the meantime, Council Member Kara King has thrown her name in the ring for the May 2020 election. She is expected to run umopposed by several local sources.

620 to get medians

 

TxDOT has confirmed that medians will be installed on 620 from Lohman's crossing up to Bella Montagna. The medians will look like those at the Lohman's junction and will restrict left turns to traffic light controlled junctions only.

 

The work will be undettaken in 2020 and should be completed during the school summer holiday at an estimated cost of $450,000 - to be borne by TxDOT.

Hamilton Pool RV Park on hold

 

At its Dec 10th meeting Travis County Court delayed a decision on allowing an RV park to be completed in the catchment area for Hamilton Pool.

 

Over 20,000 local residents have signed a petition over concerns that evacuation route and anti pollution requirements will not be met by the 80+ stand RV park being planned.
