Biggest Biker Event
The Republic of Texas Motorcycle Rally comes to Austin this weekend. Although the main event runs late into the night on Friday the 14th downtown, expect very large numbers of motorcycles (often in very large convoys) to be on our Hill Country area roads all weekend. Be extra aware of the area around your car or truck and chek your blind spots regularly to avoid accidents. Details HERE.
$1m study for HPR
Hamilton Pool Road (HPR) is to get a one million dollar study of the six mile section in Travis County (from Highway 71 to the intersection with RR12) - after a motion passed by the County Commissioners this week. HPR has seen multiple fatal accidents on its two lane format with few shoulder areas, but any fixes would be funded out of 2016/7 bonds for even later construction.
