LT Pop Warner reborn
Lake Travis Pop Warner football has just announced its 2013 schedule. This is the first year for the Lake Travis Pop Warner program as Lake Travis Cavaliers - LTYA was a member of Pop Warner as the Wildcats.
Kid-E-Shack anniversary
Today sees the 2nd year anniversary of Claudete Gunsalus taking over ownership of Kid-E-Shack Lakeway. Kid-E-shack provides "drop-in" child care on RR 620 for kids 18 months to 14 years from 9 am to 10 pm (midnight Fridays and Saturdays).
Videoconferencing for City? - updated
The August 27th Bee Cave City Council meeting has on its Agenda a new item related to allowing Council members to attend meetings remotely - including by video conference technology. The item, originally rumored to have been placed on the agenda by Councilman Kline but now confirmed to have been placed by City staff, refers to Texas House Bill 2414 which relates to such use by government bodies. Councilman Kline has had past attendance issues with City Council and has previously proposed changing the meeting day and possibly using videoconferencing as a solution.
Firework Vendors OK for 10 years
At Tuesday's 13th meeting of Bee Cave City Council, in a move led by Councilman Steve Braasch, it was approved to give Fireworks businesses located in any ETJ areas 10 year's grandfathered rights to sell fireworks. Firework sales and discharge are both banned in the City.
Dog park funding at Council tonight
Tonight there will be a Public Hearing to request funding for the "new" Bee Cave dog park. This hearing will be held at the City of Bee Cave City Hall. The new dog park is slated to replace the current park that was built in the area of a retention pond. With the addition of the new road and the failure of the pumps, the area has become more difficult to access, muddy and unsanitary. The proposed park is on the opposite side of the Parkway.
